Illamasqua "Paranormal" Launch

On Tuesday 30th April I was invited to a Pro Launch of the new Paranormal range by Illamasqua. This company are still quite a young company in retail makeup, trading for just over 4 years but are now known all over the world. It is an exciting range, offering challenges and risk takes with their choice of words, concepts and design.

I was working on a shoot on that day very nearby in Portland Place and we wrapped at 6.30pm so I asked my team if they wanted to join me, the answer was a jubilant "yes". The event was from 4pm - 7pm so we raced down to Beak Street with our zuca cases in tow.
The main product I was looking forward to testing was the new Hydra Veil, which is a gel based product aimed to restore hydration in the skin. This had been featured in Vogue as a new "must have" product and I was keen to try this out.

It was still busy when we arrived and we were greeted by Spob O'Brien and David Horne, who talked us through the range. We were shown the new range which included:

Hydra Veil
A new hydrator & primer, brilliant for dry skins under makeup, this has been created to enhance makeup. This retails at £27.00.

Nail Polishes
These are available in 3 colours similar to the bold vibrant colours of the "Tutti Frutti" sweet colours.
Omen - Bright Green
Seance - Violet
Ouija - Bright Pink
These colours are perfect for summer, make a statement because of their bold, alluring tones.
They retail at £15.00 each.

Gel Eyeliner
This is a small pot of a creamy texture and is very smooth to apply with staying power. The colour is black and offers an intense finish. This retails at £18.00.

Paranormal Palette
This again reminds of the "Tutti Frutti" sweet colours. A colourful quartet offering shades of:
Bright Green
Violet
Bright Pink
Soft Orange
This product is water resistant and contains fine particles of silicone. It can be mixed with Hydra Veil to gain a wider application and more coverage for more creative makeup applications. At some stage I intend to test this on a body painting application to see how the finish appears. This palette retails at £34.00.

Lipstick
There are two colours in this range:
ESP - Light lilac
Posture - Light taupe
These retail at £16.50 each.

Gleam
This a new "Gleam" product named "Supernatural" and is in a bronzed tone. This retails at £18.00.

Its a great range, offers versatility and good staying power. The advertising visuals were created by Alex Box, who offers a new take, as always, on makeup design. We had a really good evening at Illamasqua, Beak Street trying out the range and I was given a gift bag of Hydra Veil, the Paranormal palette and the gel eyeliner to try. I have been using the Hydra Veil on my own skin all week and I love it.
