Heineken Commercial "Crack the Case"

Earlier on this year I worked on the Heineken "Crack the Case"commercial to be released inconjunction with "Skyfall" the new James Bond film. I was booked by the Hair & Makeup Designer Spob OBrien to airbrush a model completely gold as a montage of the original "Golden Girl" played by Shirley Eaton in James Bond film titled "Goldfinger".
Spob OBrien

Spob is a real inspiration and well respected in the makeup world. Her wealth of knowledge of hair, wigs, makeup and historical periods is indepth with specific intricate detail. Spob initially started working in hair & makeup in theatre work and then progressed into the world of film and media working on productions such as "The Kings Speech", "Inception" and "Rush" (due for release in 2013). Alongside working in the busy world of film Spob is also Head of Professional Development at Illamasqua, a newly launched makeup brand currently making global waves across the makeup industry.
The commercial was directed by Sam Mendes and was filmed at Shepperton Studios. This commercial would be released inconjunction with "Skyfall" in October 2012. Daniel Graig was the lead, playing his James Bond role; supported by a variety of characters from previous Bond films.
Jemma Bolt our artiste was very patient while she was airbrushed completely in gold and then had a beautiful gold sequinned dress placed over her to create an air of "golden elegance". We filmed for 10 hours per day over two days and Jemma was real joy to spend time with.

For the gold application we used a variety of products including:

MUFE (PAM London) - Gold Aquarelle
Ben Nye (PAM London) - Gold powder
Fardell (Charles Fox) - Gold powder
Kryolan (Charles Fox) - Gold Hair Spray
Illamasqua - Nail colour - swinger
Illamasqua - Eyeshadow - Obsidian
Illamasqua - Masquara
Illamasqua - Precision ink - Havoc
Illamasqua - Intense lip gloss - Stranger
Illamasqua - false eyelashes - 07

This is the end result, Jemma our "Golden Lady" was in the final scene of the commercial in a "party scene" carriage. Hair & Makeup by Spob OBrien, Airbrushing & Makeup by Julia Townend and Denise Delaney.

Pam Studios July 2012

The PAM London studio launch July 2012

I have worked with the PAM London team at various events throughout 2012. I have huge respect for Kate and Jan who own this makeup store in Shephereds Bush. They are very talented Hair & Makeup Designers but two amazing women and it is a pleasure working with them. They have a fab team working at the shop who are always friendly and very supportive. Over the last two years I have attended a variety of workshops hosted by PAM London offering demos by leading makeup artists in industry such as Morag Ross, Illamasqua, Mandy Gold and Makeup Forever.

In July I was asked to create a body painted design for the launch of the newly designed Studio at PAM for invited makeup professionals. David Arbid (MUFE), Kate Benton and Shaunna Harrison were also demonstrating a wide range of makeup applications. the evening was well attended and proved to be a great success. I asked one of my recent graduates Julia Blair to assist and another makeup friend Branka Vorkapic called in her sister to model.
The event was a real success and each guest was given an exciting goody bag full of makeup treats from MUFE and Illamasqua to name but a few. The Makeup Studio is well designed and courses are already running in Special FX and makeup. I will be running some classes from the Studio in 2013.
