New York Trip - Part 2

I have used for the MUFE range in particular the body paints for over 18 years. For a long time in the 1990's you could only purchase them in the Paris store, which was exciting as I could fly over to Paris to pick out the colour range and stock up on other goodies from MUFE. The range is now very extensive with a wide range of HD products including a brilliant setting powder which works well on camera and you need very little product.
MUFE was created by the makeup and body artist Dany Sanz however this company is now owned by the Louis Vuitton group, well established worldwide and is very popular in Europe, the far east and the USA. Dany remains a Creative Director within the MUFE group.

I met my friend Floriane David who is of french origin and has worked extensively for MUFE for nearly 20 years. We met firstly when Floriane was working in the MUFE shop based in South Molton Street and I was able to organise kits from MUFE for our students. For over a year Floriane worked in my team at the college teaching theatre makeup to our year 1 students. Floriane is an amazing makeup and body artist with a vast knowledge of the makeup industry. In London Floriane worked for MUFE and as a personal makeup artist to a wide number of well known people including Isabelle Blow. Eight years ago MUFE asked Floriane to open up the MUFE Makeup Academy in New York and this is based in Union Square in Mid town, Manhattan. The MUFE Academy will be moving later this year to the downtown Manhattan area of Soho.

I was able to spend a couple of afternoons with Floriane at the Academy where the students were learning sculpting and life casting techniques. The academy hosts a wide variety of photographs of students work and each course offers a Makeup show at the end of the training. MUFE offers training in Film & TV plus a Fashion Makeup course.

Above is a photograph of Floriane and a copy of her work on the front cover of the Makeup Artist Magazine.

Check out the MUFE brand, it offers strong pigments, great colour choices for body painting and an excellent range of HD products especially the HD setting powder. In the UK this range is available at PAM. The range is about great product and strong pigment and a must for all body painters as the aqua colours, creams and glitters are vibrant and beautiful.
